How should the road fence be installed?

(1) When the pillars are buried, the pillars should be driven into the depth indicated in the design drawing.  Where pillars cannot be driven in, postholes for pillars should be excavated, and the net depth of excavation should reach the depth indicated in the design drawing.  Backfill shall be compacted in layers of good material unless otherwise specified.  Each layer shall not exceed 150mm and shall be tamped down to the ground.  The density of the compacted backfill soil shall not be less than that of the adjacent undisturbed soil, and the posthole in the rock shall be backfilled with aggregates.

(2) When setting pillars on the ground of paving cement concrete, asphalt concrete or other ready-mixed asphalt materials, the posthole shall be backfilled up to 50mm below the pavement surface layer, and the remaining part shall be backfilled and compacted with the same pavement materials, which shall reach the Engineer's satisfaction.

(3) The column should not cause any visible deformation due to the driving method.  Any columns that are excessively damaged shall be removed and replaced at the Contractor's responsibility.  Damaged columns deemed acceptable by the Supervising Engineer must be repaired within 24 hours using a good cold galvanizing compound.

(4) The installation of spliced joints for steel road fences should meet the requirements of the corresponding specifications.

(5) There should be no damage to the installation of road fence panels.  Any minor damage caused by galvanizing should be repaired with paint.

(6) The connecting bolts and splicing bolts of the road fence should be tightened.  The use of oval screw holes to form a regular and smooth line without any ups and downs.  The entire line type of the top surface of the road fence panel shall be consistent with the line type of the horizontal and vertical curves of the road surface.
